2015 Tyee Estate Chardonnay

Winemaker’s Notes

2015 Tyee Estate Chardonnay is an Unoaked Chardonnay with notes of vanilla bean and tropical fruit.  Made from own-rooted, dry-farmed 25 plus year Old Vines grown in Tyee's Estate Vineyard. Hand harvested and gently whole cluster pressed.  Only 300 cases produced.

Tyee Estate Vineyard

Tyee Wine Cellars is located on our Family Farm founded over 130 years ago in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley.  Chardonnay vines were planted thoughout the 1980's in Tyee's Estate Vineyard.  These old vines of Chardonnay are dry-farmed on their own roots.  Five family generations have revered the farm's open spaces, woodlands, wetlands and streams while growing crops in a sustainable manner.  Good wines remember the grapes of their origin.  We believe sharing Tyee Estate wines with you is perhaps the most sublime expression of the land.

2015 Tyee Estate Chardonnay

89 Points (Reviewed January 6, 2018)

Light golden yellow color in the glass. Aromas of white peach, pear, lemon curd, fresh straw.  Full richness in the mouth with flavors of lemon, pear, pineapple and nut oil. Nicely integrated acidity with a bright stream of citrus on the finish.

Tyee Estate Chardonnay is chosen for the second year in a row as one of Oregon's Top Chardonnays.  The Oregon Wine Press says about 2011 Tyee Estate Chardonnay, "Ripe, tasty flavors and bright, lively acidity make for an immediately appealing charmer whose beautiful balance retains its attraction.  From first sniff to final savor, from grapefruit to stone fruit, the classy character continues throughout.  And look at that low cost." - Chardonnay Show Off, Oregon Wine Press
